This blog is intended to supplement a course offering for the Spring 2009 semester at the University of Iowa, The History of the Great Plains. Each book we read in the class will be shared on the blog, whereupon students and other participants can post questions or comments about the work or other related issues. The instructor is Dennis Kuhnel.
Hm...doesn't look like this place is very busy.
ReplyDeleteI was at this Jubilee last year, (right now it's 02/04/10), and I have to say that it was very enjoyable.
I have a growing interest in history and I find I am spending more and more time at things like this.
I would have to say, the folks that sell products at this Jubilee along with the folks that attend are a unique group. Their interest has taken on a dimension that "young" folks may not appreciate.
Reliving the past is a way for folks to buffer the out of control present.
Hope more folks comment but if there aren't any comments, at least I had a chance to put my two cents out here.
